CHINNOR BIKE DAY 1997
|
The first Chinnor Bike Day was held at The Crown in Chinnor, Oxfordshire back in April 1997 and proved to be a huge success. The weather was bright but extremely cold, but that didn't stop around 120 bikes turning up for the run from Thame, through the Town Centre, hooters blaring (past cheering crowds!) and on through Risborough & Longwick ending up at the show site in Chinnor. The place was packed all day and everyone had an excellent time. The evening bash with Buzz and State of Mind went down a storm and we had more than a few delicate souls the next morning... We made a load of money on the day (partly through having an auction of various things we'd scrounged, including an Signed England Rugby Shirt) and ended up handing over £1700 to two local charities, The Chinnor Youth Project and The Autistic Support Group at St.Andrews school. We were also able to hand over just under £1000 to M.A.G. for Riders Rights. Click HERE for 'photos from the '97 event. |
